The School District 83 DPAC is an organization dedicated to supporting and representing parent advisory councils (PACs) within SD#83. Our mission is to amplify the voices of parents and advocate for the best education for all students in our district.
DPAC represents all local PACs (Parents’ Advisory Councils) at the school district level by participating in monthly meetings and regular conversations with School Board Trustees and SD83 leadership. This relationship as the parent voice has led to positive and direct impacts on policies, budgets, and the overall culture of education within our district.
Our commitment to community involvement and parental engagement drives us to assist PACs at schools, amplify parent voices at the district level, and actively participate in policy committees, ensuring that the views of North Okanagan Shuswap parents are effectively represented.
Our core values center around empowering parents to engage in education and collaborating with the school district and stakeholders to ensure that policies and initiatives effectively support the students within the district.
We advocate for parent concerns both locally and provincially, while also providing assistance to parents of diverse learners, striving to ensure they receive the necessary support to meet their unique needs.
